1 The Big Idea
Best, Worst, Most: Use the Present Perfect
📘 Level 2 — Present Perfect — Lesson 9
A superlative says something is number one: the best, the worst, the most interesting.
When you say this about your life, you think about your whole life up to now. Use the Present Perfect: It's the best movie I have ever seen.
It's the best movie I have ever seen.
She is the most talented singer I have ever met.
This is the worst news I have ever heard.
He is the fastest runner our team has ever had.
She is the most talented singer I have ever met.
This is the worst news I have ever heard.
He is the fastest runner our team has ever had.
2 The Structure
Step by Step
It's / This is / She is + the + superlative + noun + subject + have/has ever + past participle
This is the largest project our company has ever built.
She is the most patient teacher I have ever had.
That was the longest trip we have ever taken.
You can add that (the largest project that our company has ever built). Most people leave it out.
